Edvin Yegir

Associate Professor of Graphic Design

Edvin Yegir is a member of the design faculty co-directing the undergraduate Graphic Design Program and also serves as the director of the Design Center Studio. Edvin’s specialties include strategic visual communication for culture and commerce with emphasis on visual communication strategy. He has conducted workshops, lectures and courses in typography, design activism and design systems + strategies. He has also served as guest critic, thesis advisor and/or tutor for MFA and BFA programs such as Pratt Institute, RISD, UAL: Central Saint Martins and Yale.

Edvin is the founding principal of Typotopia Design: Practice. Pedagogy. Activisim. – this design consultancy operates from Cambridge + New York City / USA with a cadre of national and international clients in commercial and cultural sectors.

Edvin’s work has been widely recognized by many professional organizations and publications, including the American Institute of Graphic Artists (AIGA), Graphis, Print, Communication Arts, and the American Center for Design.

Edvin’s activist design projects have been featured in many exhibitions and publications to date. His most recent work was exhibited at the AIGA National Design Center in New York as part of the design exhibition We The Designers: Reframing Political Issues in the Obama Era.

Edvin holds an undergraduate degree in Special Studies: Psychology/Philosophy/Design and received his MFA in Graphic Design from Yale University.
